COMPLIANCE ETC: THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED – APRIL 24

The just-issued US State Department report on human rights worldwide includes the following summary for Panama –

Significant human rights issues included credible reports of: serious government corruption; regulations prohibiting consensual same-sex sexual conduct between adults in some security forces; and crimes involving violence targeting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex persons. The government did not always take credible steps to identify and punish officials who may have committed human rights abuses.

I now have a t-shirt and baseball cap for one Presidential candidate, and a baseball cap for another, as people continue handing out such things. Not sure how they might make you want to vote for the candidate, if that wasn’t already your intention – but the t-shirts are nice and of good quality. At least in Cologne during election time years ago there was beer and sausages on offer…
