The World Bank has said that the Panamanian economy faces this year the challenge of not having revenues from mining extraction and exports after the closure of the Cobre Mine, but that it sees Panama’s economy growing 2.5% this year despite the loss of income from mining, and by 2025 it is estimated to reach a rate of 3.5%.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Chile is to cooperate with panama over the closure of the mine.
