UK: ECONOMIC CRIME BILL – GOVERNMENT STRENGTHENS TRUSTS DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS IN LORDS

On 20 March, the Chartered Institute of Taxation reported on amendments re disclosure requirements in relation to trusts, a revised threshold for the offence of providing false statements and removal of an exemption on the grounds of the UK’s economic wellbeing. There will also now be an obligation on overseas entities that disposed of land before the register is fully in effect to disclose information.
