COMPLIANCE ETC: THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED – JUNE 7

Well, today the temperature here in Mexico reached 39 degrees Celcius (said to be “feel like 45” it is said, and it feels true)…

Meanwhile, aside from ex-President Martinelli coming out against the retiring of the $1 coin named after him, the biggest story in Panama may be that 6 abandoned aircraft at the main airport are to be recycled. I don’t know how long they have been there, but from the look of them it may have been a while.

COMPLIANCE ETC: THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED – JUNE 6

Touring Mayan ruins today as the temperature was said to have reached 42 degrees Celcius. The heat here is fierce and, unlike Panama City, it does not really cool down in the evening. In Panama we might see temperatures in the 30s in the day fall to the low 20s at night, but not here at the moment. Also visited a cenote, one of the hundreds of underground, water-filled caves that explain how the Yucatan can support plants, animals and people despite a seeming desert-like climate. However, it will be a relief to return to the relatively gentle, and more humid, climate of Panama.
