EUROPEAN COMMISSION PRESIDENT HAS ANNOUNCED DETAILS OF THE EU’S ELEVENTH PACKAGE OF RUSSIA SANCTIONS

On 11 May, the EU Sanctions blog reported that the EU Commission had adopted a proposal said to include:

  • transit bans on additional products, including advanced tech products or aircraft parts that are exported to third countries via Russia;
  • to combat sanctions circumvention the Commission may propose Member States sanction the export of certain goods if they are being exported from the EU to third countries, with an intended final destination of Russia; and
  • a ban on ‘shadow’ entities from Russia and third countries that are intentionally circumventing EU sanctions.
