GLAMOUR MODEL AMONG 11 COURIERS CAUGHT IN A CASH-SMUGGLING RING THAT LAUNDERED MORE THAN £100 MILLION FROM THE UK TO DUBAI

On 26 April, various media reported that a network of couriers – who communicated using a WhatsApp group titled: “Sunshine and Lollipops” – smuggled a total of over £104 million from the UK to Dubai during 83 separate trips between November 2019 and October 2020.  11 of the couriers have now been convicted.  The group was overseen by ringleader Abdullah Alfalsi, 47, from Dubai, who was jailed for more than 9 years in July last year.
