BRIEFING ON THE SCOPE OF THE EXISTING RESTRICTIONS ON LEGAL SERVICES AND CONSIDER THEIR IMPACT ON UK COMPANIES AND UK NATIONALS

On 12 April, an article from Eversheds Sutherland considers the position re the imposition of restrictions against the provision, by UK persons, of professional and business services to Russia.  The restrictions must be complied with by any individual or entity located within or carrying out activities in UK territory, all UK nationals and legal entities established under UK law (including overseas branches) wherever located or carrying out activities.  It also warns that further professional service restrictions may be imposed in the future and UK companies are cautioned to consider their compliance with these sanctions carefully.
