First, some good news, as the health ministry reports that malaraia is controlled in endemic areas of the country. this is despite the reported affect on controls during the pandemic. The endemic areas of the country, identified with higher cases of malaria, are said to be Guna Yala region, Ngäbe Buglé, East Panama and the Darién. In 2022, there were 7,112 reported cases in Panama.
