COMPLIANCE ETC: THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED – APRIL 5

Last night a 6.8 magnitude eathquake struck, in the Pacific 72 km beoff the coast. There was a second, 4.2 magnitude, aftershock. We noticed nothing here in the city, and no injuries or damage has so far been reported. however, there were warnings to fishermen and bathers of potential high waves.

The road closures over water shortages in the west of the country continue. So we postponed our planned visit to the former Howard Air Base, going to the tame jungle of the Parque Metropolitano instead, where the highlight were the Jesus lizards scampering across the pool there.

On Friday, which is Good Friday, of course, the usual ban on the sale of alcohol will be imposed, from midday to midnight. Also prohibited are “musical ensembles, symphonies, audio equipment, karaoke, use of mobile units, concerts, dance activities enlivened by orchestras or other means of dissemination or reproduction of music”. If only they could also disconnect the traffic horns…
