FRANCE: NEW PRACTICAL GUIDE ON ACCEPTING GIFTS ETC

On 15 September, the French AML agency, AFA, published this guidance (in French) which explains that, as a matter of principle, a public official does not have to accept a gift or invitation in the performance of his duties.  Acceptance may, in certain circumstances, expose him to a risk of criminal sanction.
