On 9 September, the US Treasury published this guidance on the on implementation of a maritime services policy and related price exception for seaborne Russian oil. It says that the G7, EU, and the US will implement a policy with regards to a broad range of services related to the maritime transportation (called the “maritime services policy”) of Russian Federation origin crude oil and petroleum products.

On 12 September, the Guardian reported that Babiš, a billionaire tycoon, is accused of illicitly obtaining €2 million in EU small business funds for the development of a hotel and conference centre when it was ineligible for such financial aid because it was part of his multi-industry Agrofert business empire, which controls vast tracts of the Czech economy. The trial follows a 7-year police investigation into events dating back to 2007 that have been the subject of a report by the EU’s anti-fraud unit, OLAF, which ended in 2018.
