On 9 August, an article from SeafoodSource reported that a new study published in Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety found that seafood fraud is a growing international problem impacting food safety. The study examined seafood fraud incidents over the past 10 years in order to analyse the types of fraud that commonly occur. More than half of the issues reported across all 4 datasets involved the presence of illegal or unauthorized veterinary residues in seafood originating from Asia.
