MALTA STILL TO INITIATE OVERARCHING ANTI-CORRUPTION STRATEGY

On 24 May, the Times of Malta reported that the Council of Europe GRECO body has said that Malta still has to initiate an overarching anti-corruption strategy, built on a risk assessment in respect of the government and its top executive officials.  Alongside other shortcomings, GRECO said that further progress was therefore necessary to demonstrate an acceptable level of compliance with its recommendations within the next 18 months.
