DESPITE US SANCTIONS, LITHUANIA’S RAILWAYS KEEP THEIR DEAL WITH BELARUS

On 16 December, OCCRP reported that the CEO of Lithuania’s railway company (LTG) has announced his resignation after a scandal over the transit of fertilisers produced by a US-sanctioned Belarus company, Belaruskali.  It notes that Belaruskali was not put on the EU’s sanction list, perhaps due to Lithuania lobbying.
