GAMING PC COMPONENTS ARE NOW AT THE CENTRE OF SMUGGLING DUE TO SCARCITY

On 6 April, various media reported that a global computer chip shortage is resulting in GPU RAM, and SSD being smuggled illegally into countries like Hong Kong. Covid-related factory shutdowns included semiconductor fabrication plants, limiting the supply of the necessary component for computer chips and, with the factories shut down, companies like AMD have not been able to keep up with demand.  It is said, for example, that Hong Kong customs found an illegal shipment on a fishing boat.  The shortage is expected to last until at least mid-2022.
