On 14 February, Modern Diplomacy revealed how space technology that was delivered by the countries like the US, France and Germany under the framework of peaceful space cooperation has provided the foundation for India’s largest nuclear-capable missile, the 5,000-mile range Agni V.  It says that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is still enjoying unconditional technological support in space affairs the UK and US, even though there appears to be a little noticeable separation between the civil and military missile programmes in India, and the US is still transferring space-related technology to India.  It traces support provided by the US to the 1960s, with other assistance from France, UK and Soviet Union.  The so-called “The Missile Man of India”, A P J Abdul Kalam, was also trained during this period at Scout Launch Vehicle Program at NASA.
