OFAC NEW CUBA AND NICARAGUA SANCTIONS LISTINGS

On 21 December, OFAC advised that 3 Nicaraguans and 3 Cuban entities (2 with Panama connections) have been added to the SDN List.  The 3 Nicaraguan nationals are designated for their support of the Ortega regime.  The Vice-President of the Nicaraguan Supreme Court of Justice, a Deputy of the National Assembly, and the Chief of the Nicaraguan National Police in Leon have been listed in what is described as an effort to target government officials that continue to assist the Ortega regime’s effort to undermine Nicaragua’s democracy.  Of the Cuban entities, 2 are subsidiaries of the third entity, the large Cuban government enterprise Grupo de Administración Empresarial SA, and use their Panamanian incorporation to subvert international trade restrictions.

I had omitted the following link (as it did not seem to generate much interest!), but it seemed time to add it again and say that, if you would like to make a (polite) gesture and help me with my removal and computer costs, I have a page at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/KoIvM842y
