SAME ARMED GUARD WHO TOOK A SHIP’S CREW HOSTAGE TAKES OVER ANOTHER VESSEL

On 21 August, Splash 247 reported that a Ukrainian, who worked for private maritime security company (PMSC) Alphard, broke into the armoury onboard the ship – which serves as a floating armoury and is currently in the Red Sea – and took the crew hostage again in his fight over back pay.  It is said that he is the same man who had taken over an ship for 3 days last month, when he was one of 3 men who had been employed aboard as security for a Red Sea transit.
