GERMAN PAYMENT PROCESSOR WIRECARD $2.1 BILLION IN PHILIPPINE BANKS “DOES NOT EXIST”

Deutsche Welle reported on 21 June that German start-up Wirecard was said to have $2.1 billion in 2 Philippine banks, but the central bank there has said that documents linking them to the money were fake. Wirecard AG is a German payment processor and financial services provider which is listed on the German stock exchange. It It was already under investigation over questions about whether its executives provided inaccurate information to investors and about whether it has been the victim of market manipulation.
