On 18 June, AFP reported that DR Congo’s military is receiving weapons and training from multiple countries without notifying the UN as required by a 2004 resolution, according to a recent report to the Security Council, and that some of the weapons have fallen into the hands of armed groups operating in the east of the country.  The report noted that several countries “delivered significant quantities of arms, ammunition, equipment and military vehicles” to the military, including civilian helicopters transferred for military use.
