CONGO PROSECUTOR ACCUSES PRESIDENT’S AIDE OF $52 MILLION THEFT

On 12 May, BNN Bloomberg reported that a Democratic Republic of Congo prosecutor has accused Vital Kamerhe, 61, President Felix Tshisekedi’s chief of staff of embezzling more than $52 million in one of the nation’s highest-profile corruption trials. The charges are said to stem from an investigation into infrastructure contracts signed during the first 100 days of Tshisekedi’s tenure last year.
