The Guardian reported on 14th August reported that 2 pig farmers will be jailed after being convicted of illegally importing Danish pig semen concealed in shampoo bottles.  A minister is quoted as saying that breaches of biosecurity laws would not be tolerated.  The company involved, GD Pork, which is a subsidiary of a Danish company, received a fine of $500,000 but is in liquidation.  An administrators’ report on the business said it borrowed an extra A$10.26 million from lenders after raids on premises by the authorities, but failed to inform the lenders of any potential prosecution.
