FATF: CAPE VERDE AML/CFT EVALUATION REPORT

On 9th August, FATF published the mutual evaluation report on Cape Verde, which followed an assessment undertaken by the FATF-style regional body, GIABA, with the onsite visit in November/December 2017.  It was adopted by the GIABA at its May 2019 Plenary meeting and the findings of the assessment have also been reviewed and endorsed by the FATF.  The effectiveness ratings for the country were rated as “Low” in every category, resulting in a disappointing report.
