LANDMARK RULING AGAINST CHINESE MINING COMPANY IN SIERRA LEONE
Politico SL reported that Chinese mining company, Shandong (successor to the defunct African Minerals Ltd) must pay end-of-service benefits to former employees.

UK UNVEILS PLANS TO ESTABLISH FCA AS SUPERVISOR OF FUTURE CRYPTOASSETS AML/CTF REGIME
On 13th July, Finance Feeds reported that the UK Government plans to bring all relevant cryptoasset businesses into AML/CTF regulation in January 2020. This is said to be in the new Economic Crime Plan just published by the Home Office.
JAMAICA: CRIMINAL CHARGES LOOMING OVER FORMER PETROJAM MANAGERS
On 14th July, the Jamaica Observer reported that the Independent Commission has completed its probe into the operations of the Petrojam state-owned oil refinery, the report is being forwarded to the director of corruption prosecution and indications are that criminal charges could soon be laid.

CANADA TO REQUIRE ELECTRONIC EXPORT REPORTING IN 2020
Sandler Travis & Rosenberg reports that, from 30th June 2020, the Canada Border Services Agency will no longer accept the paper B13A export declaration form and exporters (or their customs service providers) will instead be required to report exports electronically.
