SFO DEFERRED PROSECUTION AGREEMENT WITH OUTSOURCING COMPANY SERCO FOR £22.9 MILLION OVER ELECTRONIC TAGGING SCANDAL

On 3rd July, The Register reported that Serco has agreed to pay £22.9 million to the SFO in fines and costs related to its electronic tagging scandal.  Under the deferred prosecution agreement, the company’s UK subsidiary – Serco Geografix Ltd (SGL) – has taken responsibility for 3 offences of fraud and 2 of false accounting related to its contract with the Ministry of Justice between 2010 and 2013.
