On 24th/25th May, the FATF-style regional body published follow-up reports for these 3 states in technical compliance (TC) matters. Overall, the expectation is that countries will have addressed most if not all TC deficiencies by the end of the third year from the adoption of their mutual evaluation reports (MER).
Botswana is said to have made good progress in addressing most of the TC deficiencies identified in its MER. It has made progress in addressing deficiencies; and the ESAAMLG has re-rated the country on 31 of the 40 Recommendations.

Since its 2016 mutual evaluation, Zimbabwe has made progress in addressing deficiencies; the ESAAMLG has re-rated the country on 10 of the 40 Recommendations.
Overall, in light of the progress made by Zimbabwe since the adoption of its MER, the re-ratings for its technical compliance with the FATF Recommendations were considered and approved by the ESAAMLG Task Force of Senior Officials Plenary as indicated in the schedule below.
