PENTAGON ‘MATCHMAKERS’ AIM TO KEEP US TECH FIRMS FROM TAKING CHINESE MONEY

Defense One on 10th May reported that the Pentagon is creating a matchmaking service to steer vetted venture capitalists toward small firms developing potentially valuable military technologies – the latest effort to prevent Chinese access.  The Trusted Capital Marketplace programme will launch shortly.  There is a list of “at least 50” such tech companies.  The 2018 National Defense Authorization Act directed the Pentagon to create a pilot programme “that supports small and medium-sized companies to manufacture ‘emerging defence and commercial technologies.
