UK PROSCRIBED TERRORIST GROUPS OR ORGANISATIONS

On 12th April, the Home Office re-published its 21-page listing and guidance on the extremist groups or organisations banned under UK law. It provides the criteria that are considered when deciding whether or not to proscribe a group or organisation.

GUIDANCE FOR ORGANISATION OR INDIVIDUAL WORKING IN A REGION WHERE TERRORIST ORGANISATIONS OPERATE

Also on 12th April, the Home Office reissued its guidance that was produced at the request of representatives of a range of international NGO, led by Oxfam. It addresses their concerns about the risk of prosecution associated with working in areas where terrorist groups operate and reputational damage if their assets are diverted for the purpose of terrorism.  This document directs users to the guidance that is available on this topic and answers some of the most common questions.
