On 27th November, OFAC announced a new Executive Order blocking property of certain persons contributing to the situation in Nicaragua, targeting the Ortega regime and its supporters, who continue to engage in rampant corruption, dismantling of democratic institutions, serious human rights abuse, and exploitation of the people and public resources of Nicaragua for private gain.  It also listed Nestor MONCADA LAU, (aka “CHEMA”) – National Security Adviser and former Vice-President; and Rosario Maria MURILLO DE ORTEGA, First Lady and Vice-President.
