BREXIT, CUSTOMS AND TRADE PROCEDURES

On 27th September, Gowling WLG published an article saying that Brexit will cause a fundamental change in the way the UK trades with the EU.  The guide it provides is intended to provide practical advice to assist businesses to start to prepare for this change.  This guide includes:

  • An overview of the import / export procedures and the key data required in order to complete a customs declaration;
  • An introduction to the most frequently used customs reliefs and HMRC trade facilitation measures available to businesses;
  • A view on how preferential origin rules could apply under a UK-EU trade agreement; and
  • Introduction to the WTO rules and principles.
