Law 360 on 6th September reported that the US DoJ had charged a North Korean hacker and alleged spy, Park Jin Hyok, in connection with some of the most damaging cyberattacks in recent memory, including the 2014 breach of Sony Pictures, the theft of $81 million from a bank in Bangladesh and the release of the WannaCry 2.0 virus.

A news release on 6th September also advised that Park Jin Hyok and the KOREA EXPO JOINT VENTURE (aka CHOSUN EXPO; CHOSUN EXPO JOINT VENTURE; and KOREA EXPO JOINT VENTURE CORPORATION) had been added to OFAC’s SDN list.
