OFAC ADDS ADDITIONAL DESIGNATIONS TO ITS SYRIA SANCTIONS LISTS

On 6th September, OFAC announced the addition of 3 individuals (2 Syrian, 1 Lebanese) and 5 companies (2 Lebanese, 2 UAE, 1 Syrian) to its SDN list.

The Lebanese national is linked to NASCO POLYMERS & CHEMICALS CO SAL (OFF-SHORE) and SYRIAN COMPANY FOR OIL TRANSPORT.

The 2 Lebanese companies are ABAR PETROLEUM SERVICE SAL (aka ABAR PETROLEUM SERVICE SAL (OFFSHORE); and ABAR PETROLEUM SERVICES LTD SAL (OFFSHORE)) and NASCO POLYMERS & CHEMICALS CO SAL (OFF-SHORE) (aka NASCO POLYMERS & CHEMICALS; and NASCO POLYMERS AND CHEMICALS).

The 2 UAE companies are INTERNATIONAL PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION FZE and SONEX INVESTMENTS LTD (aka SONEX INVESTMENTS LIMITED; and SONNEX INVESTMENTS LTD).

A news release from the State Department says that the 4 individuals and 5 entities have facilitated weapons or fuel transfers, or provided other financial or material support, to the Assad regime in Syria.  The release provides background to those sanctioned.
