SOMALIA SEIZES $9.6 MILLION FROM UAE PLANE IN MOGADISHU

Al Jazeera on 9th April reported that the money was found in 3 unmarked bags, and seized from a Royal Jet airlines carrier arriving from Abu Dhabi, UAE at Mogadishu airport.  The money was found in 3 unmarked bags and its seizure resulted in an hours-long standoff between airport officials and UAE embassy staff in Mogadishu.  Royal Jet is an airline based in Abu Dhabi, aimed at the luxury market between the UAE and Europe.
